Join us for an exciting event at the Capitol Building, where TIBA members will gather for a delightful lunch from Simply Sarah’s. Natalie Bright and Senator Kristen O’Shea will be our speakers, sharing insights and perspectives that are sure to inspire. Additionally, plans for an engaging tour are in the works, making this a perfect way to kick off the new year with TIBA!
INFORMATION ON WHERE WE WILL MEET:
Upon arrival, please come to the Visitor Center lobby area, located inside security.
We will convene in room 142-S. This is on the 1st floor, south wing of the rotunda. Directional arrows can be seen in the center of the rotunda to know which wing is south.
Parking is available on the street (metered), in parking garages located on 8th street between Jackson and Kansas Ave.Visitor Parking is also available next to the Judicial Center, south of 10th Ave, entrance from Harrison St.Guest Parking in the Statehouse garage located below ground off 8th street, but it is limited to 2 hour parking and is limited.There is also limited meter parking that is located off 8th street.
Senator O’Shea has served Senate District 18 in the Topeka and surrounding communities since 2021.
She serves on the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee, Commerce, Education, and several special committees including; Russ Jennings Joint Committee on Juvenile Justice, the Committee eon Child Welfare System Oversight, the Senior Care Task Force, and the Special Committee on 340B.
Senator O’Shea runs a business dedicated to personal and professional growth and organizational
development. She also owns Prairie Trading Company a consignment boutique. Before that she worked with the Local Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce and Leading Age Kansas. She has a Master’s in Education and is graduate from Kansas State University. She and her husband Gabe live in Topeka with their two year old son and are expecting a baby girl in May 2024.
